The best sound in the world is the sound of a sewing machine turning on! The buzz and hum are like an overture to a creative symphony, combining thread and fabric into endless possibilities.

Sewing and quilting have been a part of my life since I was a child. My early sewing memories are of watching my mother sew clothing at her Singer sewing machine. My first exposure to quilting was in the fourth grade when my maternal grandmother made me a quilt and her Amish relatives held a quilting bee at our house. Many years later, I was sewing clothes for my daughter and learning how to quilt. I have been a part of different quilting communities over the years, and each quilter has taught me more than I can recount. I have encountered quilters who are sweet, funny, generous to a fault, and endlessly creative. I have always said if you lock ten quilters in a room with one pattern you’ll get 12 different quilts!
